Ask the plan to name e.max as a material — and whether it is a veneer or a crown in your case.

How it is built

Lithium disilicate: light through the tooth

E-max restorations are milled from lithium disilicate ceramic, offering high strength and a natural translucency that closely mimics real enamel. They are commonly used for crowns, veneers and onlays where aesthetics matter most.

E.max is chosen when translucency matters: front teeth, veneers, and crowns that should not look chalky. It is not automatically the strongest choice for a grinding molar.

01

Translucency

Light behaves more like enamel. That is the brief for a camera-close smile.

02

CAD/CAM or pressed

Milled or pressed in a partner laboratory: named on the plan.

03

Not every molar

Heavy bite and bruxism may need zirconium instead. The team says so before prep.

Caring for your result

Minimal; follow the bite-in period your dentist describes

Suitability

Front-tooth crowns or veneers where translucency matters most

What we coordinate

Shade photography, lithium-disilicate restorations, try-in and bonding

Materials & plans

The ceramic is named on the plan

E.max, zirconium and composite are not interchangeable. The preview decides.

01

Front crowns

When a veneer is too little and opacity would show.

02

Veneers

Thin, translucent shells on intact enough enamel.

03

Selected back teeth

Only if the bite is friendly, otherwise zirconia.

The Process

Scan, try-in, then bond

Most ceramic smiles finish in one stay of about five to eight days when the laboratory is in the week.

  1. 01

    Assessment and shade matching

  2. 02

    Minimal preparation and digital impressions

  3. 03

    Temporary restoration if needed

  4. 04

Fit and bond the final E-max restoration

Usually one stay

Preview before you fly if photos allow; clinical days plus rest in Antalya.

Before

Photos and a preview

You send photos and history. A digital or analogue mock-up is discussed before enamel is prepared.

In Antalya

Prepare, laboratory, try-in

Scan, conservative prep where indicated, temporaries, then the try-in you can reject.

Bonding day

Shade in daylight, bite check

Final cementation and a written aftercare sheet before VIP transfer to the airport.

Compared with

Which ceramic, and when

Front teeth often want light through them. Back teeth often want strength. The plan can mix.

Typical ranges, not a promise. Individual results vary and cannot be guaranteed.

The first days in ceramic

Sensitivity is common and usually fades. The try-in is not the time to be polite about shade.

First 48 hours

Usually fine: Softer, not ice-cold

Avoid: Staining drinks if you still have unbonded teeth

First weeks

Usually fine: Normal with care

Avoid: Biting pens, ice, bottle caps

Long term

Usually fine: A normal diet

Avoid: Skipping a night guard if you clench

Do

  • Say if the try-in is too white or too bulky
  • Use a night guard if you clench
  • Keep reviews at home

Don’t

  • Expect veneers to be reversible
  • Use teeth as tools
  • Skip hygiene around the margins

Normal hygiene, a night guard if you grind, and routine check-ups help preserve the restoration and surrounding gum.

Global material standards

Certified, original systems on your treatment plan

The pieces

What you are looking at

Tap a part to keep it in focus. The explanation stays on the page. Nothing essential is hover-only.

Glass ceramic: Lithium disilicate can be pressed or milled. Translucency is why it is often chosen for visible front teeth.

Who it is for

Typical patterns, not a diagnosis. Imaging and the dental team write the real plan.

Who it is for

  • Colour, shape or small chips on visible teeth that are otherwise healthy enough to prepare.
  • Able to stay 5–8 days for preparation, laboratory work, try-in and bonding.

When we pause

  • Heavy grinding that has not been discussed, or teeth that need a crown for strength rather than a thin shell.
  • A catalogue smile chosen from a photograph of someone else.

A typical stay

  1. Day 1

    Photography and mock-up

Shade tabs in real light. A trial smile before enamel is prepared.

  2. Day 2

    Preparation

    Conservative reduction, temporaries, laboratory prescription.

  3. Days 3–6

    Try-in, then bond

You approve shade and shape in the chair. Only then is it bonded.

The first 48 hours

  • Mild sensitivity is common. Avoid very hot, very cold and staining drinks until advised.
  • Do not pick at the margins. If a bite feels high, message us, do not wait for a crack.
Read the aftercare protocol

Honest limits

Veneers change enamel. They are not paint. Healthy teeth can still be the wrong case if the bite is hostile.

Composite is faster and more reversible. Ceramic is more colour-stable. Neither is “better” in the abstract.

Named on the plan

Ceramics

Ivoclar e.max and VITA zirconium among the laboratory ceramics we specify: photographed, tried in, then bonded.

Bonding

Isolation, try-in paste, then a Solventum (3M) adhesive protocol so the tooth you approved is the tooth that is seated.

Ask before you book

  1. 01How much enamel will be prepared, and what happens if I later want them off?
  2. 02Will I see a try-in before bonding, in daylight, not only under the lamp?

The visit

Before, in the chair, and after

Sequences vary. Your written plan names the order for your mouth, not a catalogue.

  1. Before

    Name the ceramic

E.max is a lithium-disilicate glass ceramic. It is a material, not a smile style. The plan says veneer or crown.

  2. During

    Laboratory aesthetic

Try-in is for translucency as much as shape. Bonding protocols are specific; isolation is not optional.

  3. After

    Treat it as ceramic

No bottle caps, no ice crushing. A guard if you grind. Glass ceramic is strong within its brief, not invincible.

Planning

What shapes this plan

None of these replace a clinical assessment. They are the questions the dental team actually uses.

  1. 01

Whether the restoration is a veneer or a full crown in glass ceramic

  2. 02

Translucency needed to blend with neighbouring enamel

  3. 03

Bite force: glass ceramic is not chosen where grinding would punish it without a guard

  4. 04

Shade mapping for front teeth in natural light

  5. 05

How much enamel can be preserved

Treatment planning before you travel

E.max is chosen for front-tooth work where light-through-the-ceramic matters. The plan names it in writing, next to alternatives, so “premium ceramic” is not doing the talking.

What you can expect

Shade photography, laboratory work, try-in and bonding. Follow the bite-in period your dentist describes. Individual results vary.

A typical stay in Antalya

One stay of about five to eight days is typical when the laboratory is booked into the week.

Dental travel

Planning this treatment in Antalya

You arrange the flight. Trip4Smile coordinates the plan, VIP transfer, stay support and follow-up around the dental team’s work.

  1. 01

    Front-tooth photographs

Rest, smile, and side light if you can. Write whether you want a veneer or already have a broken crown.

  2. 02

    Try-in day

Translucency is judged in the room, not from a render. Say if it looks lifeless.

  3. 03

    Bonding morning

Isolation takes time. Do not plan a boat tour between try-in and cement.

  4. 04

    Guard if needed

If grinding is in the history, the stay should include the splint conversation.

Treatment FAQ

Why choose E-max over other ceramics?

E-max offers excellent translucency and a natural look for visible teeth, while remaining strong enough for many single-tooth restorations.

Is E-max metal-free?

Yes. E-max is an all-ceramic, metal-free material, suitable for patients who prefer metal-free restorations.

How long does it last?

With good hygiene and regular check-ups, E-max restorations can last many years. Individual results vary and cannot be guaranteed.

Will it match my other teeth?

Shade is selected to blend with neighbouring teeth for a seamless, natural appearance.

What is e.max?

A brand of lithium-disilicate glass ceramic used for veneers and crowns. The laboratory and the indication matter more than repeating the brand name.

Is e.max stronger than zirconia?

They serve different jobs. Zirconia is typically tougher under heavy back-tooth load. E.max is often preferred where light should pass more like enamel. “Stronger” without a position in the mouth is not a useful sentence.

Can e.max be a veneer and a crown?

Yes. The preparation and thickness differ. The plan must say which.

Does the brand guarantee the smile?

No. Shade, shape, bite and bonding protocol do. A named ceramic is a material choice, not an outcome.

How long is the stay?

Similar to other laboratory ceramics: often several days including try-in. Your outline names it.

What if I grind my teeth?

A night guard is often part of keeping glass ceramic intact. Ignoring grinding is how edges chip.

Who performs the dental treatment?

Licensed dental professionals at partner clinics in Antalya. Trip4Smile coordinates planning, VIP transfer and follow-up. We are not the treating clinic.

Can international patients receive this treatment?

Yes. We coordinate for patients who fly in. Photos and history come first; a written plan is sent before you book a ticket.

How is my treatment planned before I travel?

You share smile photos, any recent X-rays and your goals. The dental team reviews the file. You receive stages, a typical stay and what is not included.

What happens after treatment?

You leave with written aftercare. The same coordinator stays reachable once you are home. Your local dentist can use the summary we send.
